- Annotation: This article presents the results of an empirical study examining differences in the levels of psychological sovereignty and activity as measures of agency in typical life domains among students, in relation to personal anxiety. The study aims to identify the characteristics of psychological sovereignty and activity across various life spheres in students with varying degrees of personal anxiety. The sample consisted of 346 first- and second-year university students aged 18–23 from the Udmurt Republic. The following assessment tools were used: the Five-Factor Personality Questionnaire (adapted by A.B. Khromov), the Psychological Space Sovereignty Scale (PSS) by S.K. Nartova-Bochaver, the Psychological Boundary of Personality by T.S. Levi, the Diagnostics of Student Activity (DSA-2) by A.Yu. Popov and A.A. Volochkov, and the Assessment of Communicative Activity Orientation by S.A. Vasyura. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA. The findings reveal distinct patterns of psychological sovereignty and activity among students with different levels of personal anxiety. Compared to students with low and moderate anxiety, those with high personal anxiety exhibited lower psychological sovereignty in dimensions such as physical body autonomy, habits, social connections, and values, as well as weakened inhibitory and neutral functions of personal boundaries. Additionally, highly anxious students demonstrated reduced activity in academic performance, relatively low engagement in extracurricular learning, and a pronounced emotive focus in virtual communication, along with a cognitive focus in both face-to-face and virtual interactions.
