- Annotation: The article discusses the influence of the style of parent-child relationships on the development of victimization behavior in children with disabilities. An analysis of foreign and domestic publications on this topic is presented. Empirical data on measuring the level of victimization and anti-victimization behavior in children, as well as the style of parent-child relationships in their families at an interval of 3 years are presented. The first measurement was carried out when the children attended kindergarten (average age 5.5 years), the repeated measurement was carried out when the children attended primary school (average age 8.5 years). Children with disabilities (n = 29) showed a significant decrease in the level of anti-victimization behavior, compared with the control group (n = 11). The use of Spearman correlation analysis showed that the strongest relationships with victimization and anti-victimization were for the “acceptance-rejection” style (respectively R = –0.654; R = 0.638). Significant relationships were also found with the styles of “symbiosis” (R = –0.467; R = 0.593); “authoritarian hypersocialization” (respectively R = 0.557; R = 0.-469) and “little loser” (respectively R = 0.576; R = –0.45). It is noted that the attitude of parents of children with disabilities towards their child has the following tendencies: the level of acceptance is growing, but significantly slower than that of parents of children with normal development; symbiotic relationships remain almost the same as with preschoolers; the level of control and authoritarianism has increased significantly; the attitude towards the child as a loser is also strengthening. A conclusion is made about the need for psychological and pedagogical support for families raising children with disabilities of primary school age.
