- Annotation: The article analyzes the factors influencing the migration flows of young people of the indigenous minorities of the North from rural settlements to cities in order to receive education. Factors such as identity crisis, acculturation stress, and difficulties in shaping ethnocultural, professional, and social self-determination are highlighted. The results of a comparative analysis of students' ideas about Khanty culture in the context of Hofstede's theory of cultural dimensions are presented. Khanty culture is traditionally characterized by a high degree of collectivism, conditioned by the extreme natural conditions of their habitat. However, in modern society, individualistic tendencies are on the rise, particularly among young people. Khanty culture maintains a long-term orientation toward the future, based on natural-adaptive strategies. This contrasts with the focus on socio-strategic approaches characteristic of other societies. This analysis allows us to identify differences in the perception of cultural values and norms between generations and social groups. To support students in the process of self-determination in the modern socio-cultural environment, we propose the development and implementation of psychological and pedagogical support. This includes the organization of events aimed at preserving and developing ethno-cultural identity, professional orientation based on the specific culture of the Indigenous Peoples of the North, and socio-psychological support for adaptation to urban conditions.
