Annotation: The article presents the approbation of an author-developed method for teaching dialogic speech in a foreign language through the use of a digital speaking avatar within the system of Secondary Vocational Education. In this study, the digital avatar is employed as part of a dialogic training simulator designed to model communicative situations and simulate key parameters of “live” verbal interaction in a safe and controlled learning environment. The aim of the research is to experimentally assess the effectiveness of learners’ interaction with a digital avatar in terms of activating dialogic speech and reducing communicative difficulties, such as speech anxiety, insufficient development of linguistic resources, and psychological barriers to oral communication in a foreign language. The experiment was conducted over a three-month period and involved fifteen students enrolled in Secondary Vocational Education programs with an intermediate (B1) level of foreign language proficiency. As a result of the study, the theoretical significance of employing digital avatar-based training tools in foreign language education was substantiated, the methodological conditions for organizing instructional interaction were analyzed, and the outcomes of the pedagogical experiment were identified. The obtained data demonstrate a positive dynamic in the development of students’ dialogic competence and suggest that the use of digital avatars can be regarded as a promising direction for the further development of foreign language teaching methodology within the system of Secondary Vocational Education.
