- Annotation: In recent decades, there has been a growing interest in soft skills in the context of their importance for professional and personal growth. Soft skills, which include communication, critical thinking, leadership, and emotional intelligence, play an important role in successful adaptation and achievement of goals in both the educational and professional fields. According to research, up to 67% of employers prefer candidates with advanced soft skills, even if they lack technical knowledge. In such circumstances, one of the important tasks facing the education system is the development of soft skills and their diagnosis. One of the key methods for diagnosing these skills is self-assessment, but the objectivity of self-assessment faces many challenges. The article examines the difficulties that arise when evaluating one's own soft skills, in particular, the problem of subjective self-assessment caused by various cognitive distortions and the influence of social factors, and also proposes methods that can help increase the objectivity of self-assessment of these skills. In conclusion, ways to overcome these limitations are outlined, including the development of more accurate methods and taking into account contextual features when assessing soft skills.
