- Annotation: The article examines how the childhood experience of a woman’s relationship with her mother is interconnected with marital satisfaction in a married family. Women with experience of marital relations took part in the study. The total sample size was 68 women. The data obtained allowed the authors to say that women who experience a positive attitude from their mother in childhood, based on psychological acceptance, as well as women raised by a mother with a high level of autonomy, demonstrate a higher level of fulfillment of the need for love and communication in family and marital relationships , openness, home support and care. In marital relationships, they have more opportunities for self-disclosure and mutual understanding. Conflict situations and the experience of a noticeable discrepancy between expectations towards a spouse and reality are statistically more common among women raised by directive mothers who show suspicion towards their daughter with a sharp change in parenting style. The results obtained can be integrated into the practice of individual psychological counseling of women on issues of marital satisfaction and subjective well-being, as well as into the system of preventive work aimed at psychological and pedagogical support for the family.
