- Annotation: The article substantiates the need for future geography teachers to be prepared to use digital cartographic services (DCS) in their professional activities in the context of the digital transformation of education. The relevance of the study is due to the contradiction between the high didactic potential of the DCS and the actual level of their inclusion in the practice of school geography education as a multifunctional means of teaching, as well as the lack of development of appropriate organizational and pedagogical conditions in the system of higher pedagogical education for the preparation of future geography teachers for the use of DCS. Based on the analysis of theoretical sources, the key concepts are clarified: “digital cartographic services”, “readiness of future geography teachers to use the DCS”, its components (motivational-value, cognitive, activity, reflexive-evaluative) are identified and characterized. As a solution to the problem, a set of four organizational and pedagogical conditions is proposed and meaningfully disclosed: the organization of a professional learning community of teachers based on the “lesson study” technology; the inclusion of DCS in the process of mastering the subject geographical content.; implementation of a system of quasi-professional and professional pedagogical trials through an author's course, pedagogical practices and research work; involvement of students in informal educational practices (geohackathons, civic science events, geocaching). The presented conditions ensure a step-by-step transition of the future teacher from a user position to a professionally oriented and methodological-design application of the DCS.
