Annotation: The article presents the results of a theoretical analysis of the intercultural approach and its effectiveness connected with future economists professional thesaurus formation. This approach introduction in teaching a foreign language is dictated by the need for modern specialists to have professional communication not only in their native country, but also at the international level. Such communication can lead to a number of communication difficulties associated with socio-cultural differences between representatives of different communities. The intercultural approach allows to solve this communicative problem, since in this case learning is based on the correlation and differentiation of native and foreign behavior patterns due to awareness and re-awareness of native and foreign pictures of the world, which leads to future specialist correct choice of communicative and cultural patterns of behavior at the moment of communication. Successful communication also largely depends on the correct choice of lexical units, including professionalisms. In this regard, the special importance of professional thesaurus formation, where the thesaurus-type dictionary is used, is noted. The analysis showed that thesaurus of future economists formation within the framework of an intercultural approach allows the student to solve a number of communication issues, to understand the sociocultural characteristics of their native and foreign countries, to master and assimilate a professional language and to use lexical units corresponding to situations of communication, which, in turn, leads to successful professional communication in the international arena.
