- Annotation: For many schoolchildren, participation in Olympiads and competitions is a promising area for their development, as it not only helps to identify bright and talented students in various fields of science and practice, but also enhances their abilities. During the preparation for and participation in Olympiads, gifted children immerse themselves in a specific field of knowledge or activity, honing their skills and knowledge, and systematizing their existing competencies. In addition to showcasing their specialized knowledge and abilities, it is crucial to develop their communication skills, social interaction abilities, and resilience. Often, the involvement of gifted children in the process of Olympiad and competition movement can lead to a number of social sphere difficulties associated with barriers in communication and interaction with other people. The purpose of the article is to study and analyze the difficulties of gifted schoolchildren in the social sphere during the period of preparation for competitive tests and Olympiads. The article presents the results of studying the social difficulties faced by gifted students, including their relationships with peers and teachers, as well as their self-esteem during the preparation and conduct of competitions and Olympiads.
