- Annotation: The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the level of formation of the ethno-cultural identity of rural school students. Based on a theoretical review and empirical data, the structural components of the ethno-cultural system are considered. The analysis of empirical data shows an ambiguous picture: from high ethnic awareness and attachment to manifestations of indifference, ethnonihilism and ethicentrism. The article identifies the main groups of barriers in the formation of the ethnic and cultural identity of adolescents and the patterns of this process. In conclusion, recommendations are proposed for creating an integrated, systematic and locally adapted model of the formation of an ethnocultural identity, aimed at developing students' conscious, stable and tolerant connection with their own cultural heritage.
