- Annotation: The article presents the results of a study of gender differences in the subjective well-being of young people in Transnistria, conducted on a sample of 329 students (age: 17-23 years) of the Transnistrian State University. The work utilized a set of diagnostic techniques, including temperament scales, social support, hope, “Big Five” personality traits, vitality and subjective well-being. Correlation analysis revealed close correlations between hope, extraversion, social resources, personality traits and components of subjective well-being, with the role of social support and emotional involvement being significant in girls, and internal resources such as self-motivation and activity being significant in boys. The results of factor analysis showed that the structure of psychological factors in boys and girls has both common elements and specific differences. In boys, factors related to intrinsic motivation and autonomy dominate, whereas in girls, social ties and emotional support are important. Despite the differences in individual components, no overall gender difference in the level of subjective well-being was found. The results obtained can be used to develop differentiated programs of psychological support and formation of adaptation strategies for young people, taking into account the specifics of the regional socio-political context.
