- Annotation: The article examines the problem of forming the image of a future family among schoolchildren and students, actualizes the need to study this process, which lies in the contradictions and problems faced by modern families – the high importance of family values for young people, but at the same time, the increasing age of marriage, a decrease in the birth rate and an increasing number of divorces. The analysis of psychological and pedagogical literature on the problem of family image formation and psychological readiness for marriage among young people is given. The hypothesis is that boys and girls from full families have a higher level of psychological readiness for marriage than boys and girls from single-parent families, since the process of forming the image of a future family, which is a component of psychological readiness for marriage and family life, is influenced by the image of the parent family. A sample of subjects and methods of psychodiagnostic research are determined. The results of the study are presented, which indicate that the hypothesis of the study has been confirmed.
