Annotation: The article outlines the relevance of the technological approach in pedagogy, defines the concept of ‟pedagogical technology”, notes the multiplicity of technologies and suggests their classification, emphasizes the need for technology selection and the development of selection criteria. Several approaches to determining the criteria for selecting common technologies for raising modern children are considered. The first approach takes into account three main criteria that are usually taken into account when choosing any teaching tools: relevance, perspective, and innovation. The second approach takes into account the features that characterize technology and distinguish it from other pedagogical tools. In the third approach, two groups of criteria are proposed: effective, meaning the result that results from the use of technology, and procedural, revealing the basic principles of using technology to raise a modern child. Using the example of subject-oriented technology, it is shown how it reflects all the above criteria for technology selection: the formation of a pupil's individuality and subjectivity, ensuring that the child makes independent decisions, providing the opportunity to make moral choices and be responsible for its consequences. A general algorithm of purposeful actions of a pupil is given, which can be transferred to any situation, group of pupils and ensure the achievement of the intended result.
