Annotation: This article is dedicated to the issue of teaching senior class’ students dialogical speech in English with the usage of tasks in an interview format. The main features of the dialogical speech are reviewed from the points of view of communicational, psychological and linguistic studies. One’s attention is drawn towards current recommendations on the methodology of teaching dialogical speech in English, current requirements as well as tendencies in this area. The possibilities of using the interview method in practice are explored and the descriptions of both the method and the particular cases of its usage within the topic “Steps to your career” in the spoken languages are given. Particular attention is given to the possibilities of combining this format of work with the others, such as role play and conversations about current events. The most vivid examples of the results of the in-class work in this format are also provided. The training showed some positive dynamics in the development of verbal skills. As a result of this training, the students were able to improve their dialogical speech skills as well as improve their command of various language means: a greater variety of grammatical structures is now used in the spoken language. Moreover, the topical vocabulary was effectively actualized, and that had some positive impact on the process of training in general.
