Annotation: In the article we consider techniques to regulate our emotions in the course of communication (body techniques, working on our thoughts and attitude and communicative techniques). Special attention is paid to communicative techniques and two main directions of regulating emotions during the communication process: regulation of our own emotional state and impacting on our interlocutor’s emotional state. The results of the survey, in which the students of the first year of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation participated, showed that all of them experienced emotional problems during communication with other people to this or that extent. Constructive communication is impossible without the knowledge of the rules of techniques of regulating our emotions, that is why the problem the article looks into is of great importance. It’s thanks to skillful implementation of these techniques the effective and productive communication becomes possible. Simple communicative techniques to deal with our emotions are based on the levels of communication: the subject level, when we stop working on the original subject of the talk and make our emotions a new subject for a while, and the relationship level, where it’s essential to stay in the so-called “Adult” position. These communicative techniques must be improved at the lessons of foreign languages as they help solve the problem of communicative competence of students and have great importance for their future professional life. In the article there are detailed instructions aimed at improving these techniques of the regulation of emotions.
Keywords: communicative techniques, to regulate emotions, to impact on the interlocutor’s emotions, subject level, relationship level.
