- Annotation: The study of new conditions in the field of leadership motivation and governance is currently carried out by modern management theory, and the objects of attention are more likely the heads of organizations with status. Rosatom State Corporation currently pays special attention to the development of youth public organizations within the company's contour. Since 2018, the project “Development of the youth community” has been implemented in the industry. The project aims to create conditions for the implementation of constructive youth initiatives, identification and support of youth leaders' motivation, creating conditions for professional growth and self-realization of young people. The purpose of the study is to determine the specifics of motivation of women - leaders of youth organizations of the State Corporation Rosatom, as well as to compare the obtained data with the motivation theory developed by D. McClelland. Methodology. To achieve this goal, interviews were held with seven women leaders of youth community organizations. The analysis highlighted key statements from respondents, related to interviewers' understanding of their motivational experience. The methodological basis of the study was the methods of thematic and comparative analysis. The theoretical basis of this study was composed of the motivation theory, developed by D. McClelland. Results and conclusions. The thematic analysis of empirical data allowed us to identify three key topics, the motivational component of the respondents' statements. These topics are “The need for power”, “The need for success”, “The need for involvement”. The composition of the sections and the content of these topics indicate that women leaders are aware of the motivational features of their management model, which coincides with D. McClelland's theory of motivation. In the study, we revealed that along with typically male motivational strategies (rationalism, prudence, result orientation, clear hierarchy in the corporation), other features of women leaders are also presented: first of all, developed emotional intelligence, empathy. The results of our qualitative analysis confirm the idea that women tend to combine elements of different motivational models rather than adherence to the same, “feminally” oriented model.
